Sweepstakes Winner at Kearny Federal’s Montville Branch

The Sweepstakes WinnerKearny Federal Savings Bank recently held a bankwide Customer Appreciation Week celebration focused on a Caribbean vacation/cruise theme. Offices across the entire retail branch network were decorated accordingly, offering refreshments and small giveaways to thank customers for their loyalty and business.  Customers also entered Kearny Federal’s Fabulous Sweepstakes for a chance to win GrandPrize - Cruise for 2, First Prize - Canon Digital Camera, or Second Prize - Samsonite 2 piece luggage set. The grand prize winner, Marina Mairagas, has been banking at the Pine Brook and Montville Offices of Kearny Federal for thirty years. “I never thought about winning the trip when I filled out the entry form," Marina said with a smile while accepting her travel certificate. “It is especially delightful to have a sweepstakes winner who is our loyal customer for so many years,” Kim Taylor, AVP/Montville Branch Manager added. 50 speakers at Montville's “Living Lessons: Voices, Visions, and Values”

Robert R. Lazar Middle School students were put through the emotional wringer Wednesday during Lazar the school’s latest “Living Lessons: Voices, Visions, and Values” program. In one school day, students heard powerful stories from 50 speakers, from a girl who lost her parents in a texting-while-driving crash to a black man who confronted the KKK. Montville Township Committee Meets The New Area Manager For JCP&L

Montville Chamber signAdelaida Colon, representative of Jersey Central Power and Light (JCP&L), attended the Montville  Township Committee meeting on April 30 to introduce herself as the new area manager. She was hired by JCP&L to be area manager for 20 local towns. She is stationed in Boonton.  Mayor Tim Braden called her a "brave woman" for coming to the meeting because during Hurricane Sandy, Montville and many other surrounding towns were extremely unsatisfied with the performance of JCP&L. Charlie Mills Wins Third Place in N.J. National Geographic Bee

Charlie Mills, a sixth-grade student at Trinity Christian School in Montville, won third place in the Charlie Mills New Jersey National Geographic Bee at Rowan University on April 5. This year’s competition marked the 25th anniversary of the geography bee, which is orchestrated by the National Geographic Society. Morris County Towns Net $5.2 million For Road Improvements

Road signTwenty-five Morris County towns will split up approximately $5.2 million in grants for street, safety and quality-of-life improvements, the Department of Transportation said in a news release Thursday.About $4.7 million in municipal aid grants will be awarded to these towns while $575,000 in transportation enhancement grants will be divided among three municipalities. Towaco Civic Association Gets its Spring Cleaning Done

Montville Residents Urged to Donate to First Aid Squad Annual Fund Drive

Montville first aidThe Montville Township First Aid Squad is conducting its annual fund drive. The community’s financial support is vital to the squad’s ability to provide emergency services.The Montville Township First Aid Squad is asking for residents’ support to keep the services available. The squad had never billed a patient and with the help of residents, it can continue to provide free medical services. The squad is not part of the municipal government in Montville Township.
