Recycle and Donate Your Old Backpacks For The Homeless

TIME FOR A DONATION CHALLENGE! Homeless Bus, Inc. would like to distribute backpacks to their Homelessbushomeless friends in NYC this fall. Remember, they live on the streets and carry all of their belongings with them. If you have a gently used plain backpack that is appropriate for adults (no children's backpacks and none on wheels please) and has no tears or holes in it, please consider donating. A total of 250-275 are needed!  Get your friends, businesses, organizations and schools involved!  Deadline for all backpack donations is September 15th. A 6 Month Project To Widen Intersection Will Begin Next Month

Montville 1The intersection at Changebridge Road and Route 202 near Route 287 will undergo a $1.2 million dollar road project next month to widen Route 202. Hjalmar Johansson Speaks at the Montville Library

On Wednesday July 15, local hero Sergeant Hjalmar Johansson of Montville spoke about his experiences during World War II at the Montville Twp. Library. Montville Sgt.Library’s Pia Costa Auditorium was filled Wednesday night by local residents who gathered to hear Sergeant Hjalmar Johansson speak. Take a “Tour” of the Louvre Museum at the Montville Library

Walter Choroszewski who is an artist, photographer, and noted lecturer, will share his passion for the LOUVREarts and history with a “tour” of the Louvre Museum in Paris at the Montville Township Library at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 23. He will be showcasing the artists and famous works that are showcased in the Louvre. This lecture is part of the Montville “U” July Lecture Series.  The program is free. Montville Pet Parents Honored

Animalshel The Montville Township Committee honored the Montville Pet Parents on July 14 by declaring a proclamation. The Montville Pet Parents volunteer organization was formed in 2005 with a mission to help care for the animals at the Montville Township Animal Shelter. Montville Kiwanis Held First Raffle

The Kiwanis Club of Montville recently held a town-wide raffle in conjunction with this year’s 4th of KiwanisJuly Celebration. The hope is that this will become an annual tradition,  For just $5 a ticket, individuals joined in the fun, with three opportunities to win 25%, 15%, or 10% of the pot. The Club recognized R. Montville 10U Baseball Team Wins District Championship



Congratulations to the Montville 10U baseball team who won the district 7 Championship! The team defeated Wayne PAL 2-0 to win the Cal Ripken District 7 Championship. The Montville 10U team hosted the tournament this year. Many people, including family members, coaches, and fans came to the championship game to support the boys. Montville UNICO Will Host 27th Annual Golf Outing

On Monday, August 17, 2015, Montville UNICO will host it's 27th Annual Golf Outing at Brooklake UnicoCountry Club, Florham Park. Deluxe package includes registration 11am, shotgun start 12:30pm, starter's brunch, 18 holes of golf with cart and greens fees, grand cocktail hour, gourmet buffet dinner, 1 hour open bar, all for $300. Prizes and gifts including a new car for hole in one on par 3 hole. Last year Montville UNICO donated $5000 to the St Barnabas Burn Center from participation in this event. Garden Club of Montville Holds 70th Anniversary Dinner

GardenclubThe Montville Garden Club held a 70th Anniversary Dinner at the Lake Valhalla Club in Montville on June 24. The Anniversary Dinner was held in honor of the founding of the Montville Garden Club. It was founded on May 15, 1945 in Lake Valhalla, Montville by seventeen ladies who enjoy gardening. They met every so often in order to share plants and information about gardening.
