Montville Township Committee Chooses Mayor

Don kostka scott gallopoThe Montville Township Committee tentatively elected Don Kostka as mayor and Scott Gallopo as deputy mayor at its informal reorganization meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 17. Kostka and Gallopo will be formally elected and take their oaths of office on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at Montville Township’s reorganization meeting. The Township Committee’s regular meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month except for July and August. A Closer Look Behind Montville’s Business Owners - Montville VFW

Vfw 5481When do you consider the “holiday season” to begin? The obvious answer for most is Christmas. Maybe you think it is closer to Thanksgiving,  or in this year’s case, “Thanksgivukkah.” But there’s a day worth celebrating even earlier than that—Veterans Day. It falls on November 11th every year, and you don’t have to look far to find those who have served our country. Montville is home to VFW Post 5481 at 132 Changebridge Road. The French Government Honors Montville’s Joe Quade

Joe quadeMontville resident Joe Quade was recently honored by the French governement by his appointment as Chevalier of the Legion of Honor of France.  He was presented with the Legion of Honor medal by the French Ambassador to the United States. The medal recognized his contribution to the liberation of France during World War II when Quade served as a paratrooper with the 17th Airborne Division. In making the presentation the Ambassador stated "This prestigious distinction underlines the deep appreciation and gratitude of the French people for your contribution to the liberation of our country during World War II. We will never forget the commitment of American heroes like you to whom France owes so much".

RNR Counseling Services Will Hold Two 6 Week Therapy Groups For Children and Teens

LucyRNR Counseling Services is pleased to announce the start of two group therapy programs. Starting January 10, 2014 and running 6 weeks is the Social Skills Group for children ages 8-12. This group will focus on developing skills in the areas of anger management, school anxiety, peer relationshios, self esteem building and healthy communication patterns. 

RNR is also starting a Teens in Transition group on January 11, 2014. This group will run for 6 weeks and will focus on personal, social and academic stressors that affect teenagers today. Topics to be addressed include organizational skills, stress management, social media safety, communication skills and managing the transition into high school and college.

Certificate of completion and take home materials will be given at the completion of the program.
