Scarves for Athletes a Special Project for Caring Crafters

ScarfThe participants at the 2012 Special Olympics will be donning crocheted and knitted scarves as a way to create a feeling of unity and community. For the New Jersey athletes, many of those scarves will have been sent with love from Montville Township, courtesy of the Caring Crafters of St. Pius X Church.

Every other Wednesday morning, about 14 women meet at the church’s Ministry House and enthusiastically make the items that have been warming people’s bodies and lives since early 2010.  Continue reading NorthJersey.com.

A Story of Courage, Bravery and Honor

Adrian SimoneAdrian Simone is a hero. He didn’t hit the winning home run, throw the crucial touchdown pass, score the final goal, record a hit record or star in a blockbuster movie but he is nonetheless a hero, a real hero.

On Aug. 24 Lance Corporal Simone, 19, was in Afghanistan serving the people and the country that he loves. He had been there for about a month when, while out on a foot patrol mission, he was hit by an improvised explosive device (IED), also known as a roadside bomb.  Continue reading NorthJersey.com.

All of Montville Township’s Land-Use Regulations to be Replaced

An ordinance was introduced to the Montville Township Committee on Nov. 9 by the Planning BoardWelcome to montville sign that repeals and replaces every land-use regulation of the township. Russell Lipari, Planning Board chairman, and Gary Lewis, Planning Board vice chairman, presented the Board’s Montville Land Use and Development Regulations and Zoning Master Plan.

Lewis stated that the development of this new plan was transparent and inclusive. Its objective was to streamline regulations for homeowners and simplify regulations for businesses. The new ordinance eliminates inconsistencies, makes regulations easier to understand, and corrects poor language of the old ordinance.  Continue reading NorthJersey.com.

Club Women Creating Comfort for Patients

Montville Women's Club ComfortPillowsFor those with more experience in the sewing department, all it takes is about 25 minutes – but the outcome provides months worth of support and comfort.

At least that is what the Montville Township Women’s Club hopes to provide via their comfort pillow project.
