I'd say that conservation is important but unless we use other sources and locations of energy we'll continue to increase our dependence on oil from places that will use our dollars to kill us.
Nuclear is the ultimate clean energy. France gets about half of its electricity from nukes. If we can power aircraft carriers with nuclear reactors then why not American cities?
Right, we need to conserve what we have and find alternative sources. The question is, how much more aggressively could we be conserving? The alternative sources require a big investment and time to develop. Conserving is something everyone can do right now.
Is conservation out of the question?
