Wow, that's amazing. I just read the book Freakonomics, which raises the bizarre question, "What is more dangerous, guns or swimming pools?" The answer is swimming pools, of course, comparing deaths per capita, and most deaths are children 8 and under. It's nice to know that there's a way to prevent such an awful accident.
What I thought was most incredible is how could a parent of that little boy stand to watch him like that and not rush over to save him? Also, the cynic in me kind of wonders if he didn't have some flotation under his clothes.
