· It’s kitten season and there are many kittens at the shelter in all colors and sizes. There are many adult cats and a few senior ones, too. The older ones tend to get overlooked at this time of year.
· The kennels are full as well with a number adult dogs looking for homes. Gail is still hand feeding the orphaned puppies and they are getting bigger each day.
· ‘Need a Friend?’ flyers are being created every week or so highlighting some of the animals at the shelter. We are trying to get these posted in as many locations as possible. If you haven’t received them and would like to be included in the mailing list, please e-mail Sue (suempp@hotmail.com)
· We have increased the amount of our monthly donation. In July, MPP provided a case of puppy milk, money toward medical for an injured cat and a spay/neuter (for the September clinic). An MPP supporter also donated a case of puppy milk.
Educator accused of disabling fire alarm could lose teaching credentials - The former Montville High School principal who is battling to keep his state teaching credentials will find out his fate this fall. Montville Animal Shelter is looking for a special person for Violet!
Violet is a senior (10+ year old) Viszlas mix. She is a little shy at the shelter but enjoys getting pet and doggie treats. She may be slightly incontinent but appears to be housebroken and will 'go outside'.
If you have a place in your heart and your home where Violet can spend her golden years please contact Gail or Sandy at 973.334.6410 at the Montville Animal Shelter.
Update - July 30: Violet has been adopted by one of our senior volunteers as of today. So, she will get to live out her final days in Morris Plains in a fairly quiet home with a kind person. Yippee!
Garden Plate is a magazine about food, drink, and New Jersey (think Gourmet, but all about the Garden State).
Did you know that Blueberries spoil quickly if left at room temperature, but can be stored in the refrigerator for three days?

I know everybody’s sick to death of hearing about Apple’s latest i-product, so I promise not to even mention its name in this newsletter. But as I was trying to get my e-mail set up on that cellphone, I stumbled upon a delicious secret feature of Gmail, Google’s fast, free, fantastic Web-based e-mail service. This is a trick that can help everyone, whether you have a cellphone or not.
